1948 Chevrolet Panel
Ambulance
This 1948 Chevrolet Panel (Suburban) ambulance was bought new for Kimberbly in 1948 and was modified by Continental Truck Body in Vancouver before delivery. The picture above is when it was new and being shown by the medical team. The ambulance was used for many years by Sullivan Mines before being retired. I purchased the ambulance for restoration, the motor and brakes etc will be upgraded for safety. The most unique modification about the Chev is that Continental Truck Body custom built a pair of suiside doors and installed them behind the front doors. As people know all my vehicles are drivers and some have driven across Canada and back. The 48 is no exception and will take part in the 2017 Coast to Coast tour. (www.coaster2010.com)
A lot of work is ahead and I hope to document the progress as I go along.
